An eight-time Emmy Award winner, I've spent my career writing, photographing, directing and editing television programs, promos and commercials. Along the way I've have the privilege to work with some of the best in the business: ABC News, ESPN, NBC News & Sports -- and at some of the top stations in the country including KSDK in St. Louis and KGW here in Portland. Whether working as a cameraman, editor or directing and producing, it has been a diverse, rewarding experience.

Owner/operator of Cypress Bayou Music, LLC, a live music service, serving various clients and venues around Portland. We supply complete setups for live music performances: speakers, mics, monitors and live sound mixing.

Artichoke Community Music

And winner of the 2021 Cascade Blues Association 'Muddy Award" for live streaming production. Directing the sound and video production at Cafe Artichoke, a live music venue in southeast Portland. Also, designed and outfitted the theater for sound, lighting and video. Multi-camera recording and editing of many concerts and programs, and live-streaming of performances including Cascade Blues Association concerts, River City Folk national radio show, the weekly Virtual Acoustic Village and Friday Night Coffeehouse.

Ensequence - Portland, OR

Ensequence is a Portland, Oregon-based software company specializing in the creation of interactive television software. I joined the company to bring my experience in the broadcast industry to their Technical Services department. In addition to handling the video and DVD production needs for Technical Services, Creative Services, Marketing and other departments, I developed interactive TV applications for clients including the U.S. Navy, the History Channel, Ford, Olevia, the Food Channel and SpikeTV. Working in conjunction with Bravo and the American Film Institute, I developed advanced Video-On-Demand capabilities for cable industry set-top boxes. For this project, I wrote the application and oversaw the presentation of the innovative software before the AFI's 2007 Digital Media Forum.

KGW Television - Portland, OR

Senior Producer, Creative Services, for KGW's staff of producer/writers/editors. Wrote, shot, directed and edited hundreds of spots for sales, promotion and marketing. As Senior Producer I oversaw 3 other producers and was also responsible for many of KGW's Special Projects including 'Your Northwest Garden' (director/series editor/second camera), 'Around The House' (series editor/second camera), 'Gimme The Mic' (asst. director/lighting designer/director) and 'The Starlight Parade Special' (producer/writer). While at KGW won an Emmy, two Tellys and an Oregon Association Of Broadcasters award. Also, in charge of the station's production studio and post-production facility including upkeep of the department's four edit suites and purchase of cameras, lighting and editing gear.

Creative Motion Group - Portland, OR

While at KGW, formed Creative Motion Group with two partners. I was in charge of production for the company. Produced, directed and edited numerous commercials, corporate presentations and programs. One memorable project we created was Travel Oregon's 'Oregon Scenic Byways.' I photographed approximately one-third of the commercials, then edited the 48-spot, Telly Award-winning campaign. Also, wrote and performed the original music for the project. Designed and programmed the DVD companion to the series. Over 25,000 discs were distributed through Travel Oregon's magazine. Other projects we created include presentations and commercials for D.R. Horton, Nautilus, Traeger Grills and Riverside Homes.

Cypress Bayou was my video production company. Projects included writing, producing, directing and editing numerous corporate presentations, as well as shooting for Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, C-SPAN, NBC, ESPN, ABC and various other production outlets. Worked 'freelance' throughout the Southeast for ABC, ESPN, the Sunshine Network, MSG, the NBA and other companies as a videotape editor and cameraman for live sports events. Also, wrote, produced, shot and edited training video targeted at Fire departments, Police departments and other community services on 'readiness' following '9/11.' Additionally taught "Non-linear Editing" at The New Orleans Video Access Center.

Director of Production, Operations & Engineering Manager
WNOL-TV - Studio 38 Productions - New Orleans, LA.

Responsible for a Production/Operations staff of 25 editors, photographers, production coordinators, supervisors and operations personnel who kept WNOL on the air, as well as producing, directing & editing promos, commercials and programs. Also managed the Engineering Department consisting of a Chief Engineer and two staff engineers.
One of the best experiences during this time was directing the construction of WNOL's the new television facility in the New Orleans Centre. As head of the project I was able to design the production facility and offices, select and purchase all the equipment, and direct the construction of the entire station. The all-digital facility opened in the Fall of 1999, on time and under budget.
Additionally, I continued to act as producer, director, writer, photographer and editor for many commercials, promos and programs including:
    -Director, writer, editor & co-producer for 'Life, Love & Lunch', daily half-hour New Orleans-based cooking show.
    -Producer/Director for live broadcasts of Tulane University football and baseball.
    -Executive Producer, Co-Producer/Writer, Editor for 'Satchmo of the Ghetto', one-hour music documentary on New Orleans legendary trumpeter, James Andrews.
In my spare time I also programmed and updated the station's website.

Virtual St. Louis - St. Louis, MO

Virtual St. Louis was a full-service video production company and the original on-line service for St. Louis. On the video production side I created, wrote, produced, shot and edited numerous commercials, programs and specials for various clients and companies, including the St. Louis Blues Hockey team, St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Southwestern Bell. VSTL teamed up with Sable Production to create 'Outdoors In The Heartland,' a weekly hunting and fishing show airing on Fox (Prime) Sports Network throughout the Midwest. I produced, directed, shot and edited the show. I created Virtual St. Louis, the first online guide to the City of St. Louis. One of our early clients was the State of Missouri's Department of Tourism. VSTL created and programmed the first database and designs for "Missouri Online."

KSDK Television - St. Louis, MO

Created, wrote, produced, directed and edited numerous programs, news series, live and taped sporting events and specials for KSDK television, NBC in St. Louis. Won six Emmy awards and had over a dozen nominations in the 9+ years at KSDK. News and entertainment specials took my crews and me from Guam to Rome to the deserts of Saudi Arabia and all over the U.S.
Also, was the sysop for KSDK's newsroom computer system, a BASYS system (UNIX -VAX 3100).
